Akin to the unpredictable path of an electric arc, this image captures sunlight projected through the lightning-fast ripples of an alpine lake. In order to accentuate the natural contrast of the scene, I waited for the sun to be at a steep angle which rendered the lake-bed dark aside from the electric-like light refracting through the waves. I then slightly underexposed the frame. The moment was simply one of the most dramatic displays of light I’d ever witnessed in nature and the resulting image has quickly become one of my personal favorite abstracts and a proud part of my Quintier Image Collection™.
