I chase fall color all over the map – reading color reports and booking flights at the last minute so I can arrive wherever the colors are popping. After all that effort to catch “the peak”, I love the irony that two of my favorite autumn images, Encore and Encore II, were captured a couple of weeks after peak color had passed. With just a few brilliant leaves remaining in the aspen groves, it was the first snow of the season that provided the perfect backdrop to highlight the final colors. In this instance, the encore truly transcended the main performance.

In addition to his accolades as an artist, Benjamin is an inventive entrepreneur and craftsman. Over the past 20 years of producing images for clients, he has pioneered a number of proprietary techniques for capturing, enlarging, and mounting images. Additionally, Benjamin uses a 3-dimensional ink to hand sign and number each Silver Halide image. This special ink can be easily identified by an art appraiser as an authentic Benjamin Walls Image™. Each image contains millions of tiny silver crystals embedded in the emulsion, rendering a natural, dynamic, and life-like appearance. The image is then face mounted to a patented museum acrylic and backed by an archival backer for ultimate durability. Each piece includes a hand-written letter and Certificate of Authenticity establishing the image’s unique provenance.
