I stumbled across a massive bull moose for the first time when I was 20 years old and was totally awestruck. Ever since, I’ve been on a quest to capture a portrait that would do justice to his imperial presence. The moose is the tallest, largest, and heaviest of all deer species. Bull moose tower up to 7’ tall at the hump, with their crown of antlers projecting even higher. To say the least, they are formidable, regal, and inspiring. When this giant bull emerged from a lake, backlit in the frigid morning air, I knew the elements had finally come together. May Imperial inspire the same sense of wonder that is the very essence of this regal creature!
