The Impression Series | Banff National Park, Canada
A series of increasingly unlikely events over a two-month period ultimately sent me ambling up a rocky canyon in Banff National Park. About a mile from completing the trail I stood thunderstruck at the stunning palette of colors that glimmered in the sunlight as the stream rippled through a shallow pool. I worked quickly as the sun was just peeking through a hole in the otherwise cloudy sky, and moments later the lightshow had faded. I hiked out the rest of the trail pondering the incalculably long odds that I would have ever hiked that trail and captured what I already knew was one of my favorite impressions pieces ever. My mind drifted to more philosophical realms and instantly knew I’d call this image, “Lost Creek.”
